Women like them hot...and by "them" we mean other women...

I love this time of the year! Why do you ask? Well, the sun is finally shining for more than a few hours for instance and that puts me automatically in a good mood… for about 5 minutes, until I realize I’m actually stuck in a office for 9 hours or more and than I’ve no reason to enjoy the warm weather which is also one of the main reason I’ve a pounding headache most of the time caused by my low blood pressure…plus now almost all my tennis matches are gonna be played on clay, and I fucking hate to play on dirt… now that I re-read this paragraph I might admit that starting off with “I love this time of the year” was a little exaggerated …

Anyway..

One of the reason this month doesn’t entirely suck is that is time again to cast my vote for the AfterEllen.com Hot 100 !!!!
Why the excitement? Well, let’s just say that I do not take this task lightly, as an obsessive compulsive dork I particularly like the list-making process which in this case translate in hours of google searching of hot women pics… too much? Well I’ve only have 10 names to drop so the preliminary selection is very important… I’m seriously considering creating a hotness bracket-style tournament…

This were my last year nominations

• Tina Fey (ok maybe not “hot” in the general view… but would I be in awe and completely speechless in her presence? Yes I will…)
• Jennifer Beals (no brainer)
• Jill Bennett (funny, hot and out)
• Bridget McManus (idem)
• Sarah Ramirez (I was still watching Grey’s Anatomy back then, plus I’ve heard her in Spamelot…fun, curvyliscious and she can sing too)
• Lena Headey ( not only I’ve seen Imagine me & you too many times to be comfortable sharing the exact number of it, but I’ve also dvx copies of The Beyhond and, even worse, of The Cave.. if these aren't clear enough signs of admiration…)
• Lucy Lawless (really? Do I need to explain this? AGAIN???)
• Kate Walsh (my readhead quota… )
• Katee Sackoff
• Trisha Helfer (who didn’t make the top100… how that was possible is still a mystery to me...)
  

The problem with this sort of thing is that I do have the tendency to forget hot celebs…so my selection generally reflect hot right now-celebs.

I think isn’t my problem but something that it is endemic in these lists.

For example two of my defining puberty moment were directly linked to :“The Last Seduction” and “Sea of Love” so naturally if I had to choose the lineup to an all time hotness hall of fame Linda Fiorentino and Ellen Barkin would be naturally in the top spots… Katleen Turner in “Body Heat” and Laura Harring in “Mulholland Dr.” would be there too… (If there is someone who can explain to me that movie it would be mostly appreciate it.. I tend to get lost after Laura and Naomi couch scene…)

But would it make sense to put them in this year list? Somehow I don’t think so…

Before sharing with you my finalist here few predictions about this year AE’s list based on common sense and a try at blind luck:

• Tina Fey maybe not at #1 but still on the top 3.
• Rachel Maddow from not even be on the celeb radar to an easy top 10 spot (maybe higher or even #1 but I’m not sure how much of the youngster vote she may collect)
• Jill Bennett (3rd) and Bridget McManus (4th) will be (sadly) ranked lower than last year;
• Lindsay Lohan will surge on top 20 honour (before the break up it wouldn’t have surprised me to see Samantha Ronson between the 95th and the 100th spot, now I’m not sure she will make the list at all…)
• Recently out Clementine Ford will be in the top 50;
• Freida Pinto as second highest new entry on the list, probably top 15
• Wanda Skyes and Ellen Degeneres will be voted on the list mostly for political reasons (not that there’s anything wrong with that)
• Portia DeRossi recent media roundup will probably propel her between the 70th and the 50th place..
• If the lesbian and bi world has a weird sense of humour, Sarah Palin will be in the bottom 50…
• Rose Rollins will probably rock the “Women of colour” category
• All actresses from last season of TLW will be on the list.. exception made for Joyce, Phyllis, Kit, Marleen and Max…
• Since this is the first post-Olympic list I predict at least 5 athletes in the top 100
• Academy darlings Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz will be easily in the top 30
• Brooke Smiths probably ranked between the 80th and the 100th while neither Jessica Capeshaw or Melissa George will make the cut… just to prove a point
• Among the musicians that would made the list: teen lesbian darlings Teagan & Sarah and Pink
• In the battle of the “barely legal dynamic-duo” Gabrielle Christian and Mandy Musgrave’s summed ranks will be higher than the one from Blake Lively and Leighton Meester
• In the second round of the “no f-way, she’s too young to be considered hot” Ellen Page will beat Emma Watson by a landslide..
  

Now for this year selection… I think that 5 names will be the same: Tina, Jennifer, and the Battlestar Galactica tri-fecta of Lucy, Katee and Trisha and then I have this shortlist (euphemism) of potential entries (I’m asking Girlfriend (nickname still pending) to share hers as well…I’m kinda sure I can guess at least 50% of her choices… )

- Salma Hayek (is not a mystery than 9 out of 10 living people wants to dip her in guacamole)
- Pink
- Charlize Theron (does the headtitle “Charlize bares it all in her new movie” would make me go in line to see The Burning Plain? Yes, it will…)
- Lena Headey (said and done)
- Megan Fox (the fact that she would strangle a mountain ox for the chance to get on second base with Olivia Wilde makes her even more pickable)
- Kadee Strickland (I think I like her characther in Private Practice more than her actually..)
- Cristina Hendricks (in the words of the immortal Karen Walker... "nice ka-tits")
- Lauren Graham
- Lucy Liu (recently saw her on Dirty Sexy Money...she still rocks)
- Famke Janssen
- Erin Daniels
- Sara Ramirez
- Erin Cummings
- Jill Bennett
- Stephanie March (ADA Cabot can prosecute me anytime)
